What is this part and why does it matter?

The front left calliper carrier (bracket) mounts the brake calliper to the hub carrier, allowing it to slide and align correctly over the disc.

Signs of a faulty part

If you notice any of the following, the part likely needs replacement:

  • Uneven brake pad wear (one pad wearing faster than the other)
  • Calliper rattling or knocking noise, especially over bumps
  • Brake pulling to one side

Installation information

Requires the calliper and pads to be removed for access — clean and lubricate the slider pins with the correct brake grease before reassembly.

Frequently asked questions

If the carrier is corroded or its slider pins are seized, the calliper can’t move freely to centre itself over the disc, causing one pad to drag and wear faster than the other.

  • No complaints about Evro Trans itself, everything's fine. But the delivery..... It felt like the order was being carried by turtles. 4 days from Riga to Daugavpils. Judging by the tracking, the parcel just sat somewhere behind a shed for 3 days, then they found it and delivered it the next day. I think that's why I won't be ordering there again.
