What is this part and why does it matter?

The in-tank fuel pump draws fuel from the tank and delivers it under pressure to the engine, usually submerged inside the tank itself.

Signs of a faulty part

If you notice any of the following, the part likely needs replacement:

  • Engine won’t start (no fuel delivery)
  • Loud whining noise from the fuel tank area
  • Loss of power under load or at high speed, or sputtering at low fuel levels

Installation information

Usually accessed from an access panel under the rear seat or boot floor, or by dropping the tank — always replace the sealing gasket when reinstalling.

Frequently asked questions

Fuel helps cool and lubricate the pump — running low on fuel regularly makes the pump work harder and louder, and can shorten its lifespan.

  • No complaints about Evro Trans itself, everything's fine. But the delivery..... It felt like the order was being carried by turtles. 4 days from Riga to Daugavpils. Judging by the tracking, the parcel just sat somewhere behind a shed for 3 days, then they found it and delivered it the next day. I think that's why I won't be ordering there again.

  • Bought a front fender for my car. I liked it! After payment they sent more than 20 photos of the problem areas, and it was packed very securely - took a while to unwrap.
