The outer CV joint (constant velocity joint) allows the driveshaft to transmit power to the wheel at a constant speed through the full range of steering angles.
If you notice any of the following, the part likely needs replacement:
Clicking or popping noise when turning, especially at full lock
Vibration that increases with speed
Grease visible around the joint (torn boot)
Installation information
Requires removing the driveshaft for access — pack with the correct grease and fit a new boot when replacing.
