Signs of a faulty part

If you notice any of the following, the part likely needs replacement:

  • Calliper sticking or dragging (excessive heat from that wheel, or pulling to one side)
  • Brake fluid leak visible at the calliper
  • Squealing or grinding noise from that wheel

Installation information

Requires bleeding that section of the brake system after installation — always use fresh brake fluid and torque the mounting bolts to the specified value.

Frequently asked questions

Most commonly a seized piston (from corrosion) or a seized slider pin, both preventing the calliper from releasing fully after braking, causing the pads to drag continuously.
